Have you had a chance to meet Dr. Iris Moreira?
Dr. Iris Moreira was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she earned her dental degree in 2002. After completing her dental training, Dr. Moreira completed an additional 2-year residency at two of the busiest Emergency Hospitals in Rio de Janeiro. In 2008 Dr. Iris obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Dentistry in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
She started her journey in Canada in 2010 when she joined the Dental Department of the SickKids Hospital, in Toronto.
As a Clinical Fellow at SickKids Hospital, Dr. Iris provided care to medically complex patients while working closely with various dental and medical specialists including oral and plastic surgeons, prosthodontists, and pediatric dentists. She loved this great experience and she has called Canada “home” ever since.

Dr. Iris opened her dental office, Iris Dentistry, in Waterloo back in 2016. She is committed to provide comprehensive dental care and customized treatment in a caring, warm and friendly environment.
Dr. Moreira is passionate for General, Preventive and Implant Dentistry, as much as she is for Orthodontics. She has been attending numerous continuing education seminars, study clubs, and conferences every year to keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry. .
She is a proud member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and the Ontario Dental Association.
Waterloo Community
In her spare time, Dr. Moreira enjoys participating in outdoor activities with her family, including, cycling, skating, and walking/playing with the dogs. She also loves working and giving back to the Waterloo community.
