Dentist
Dr. Iris Moreira was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she earned her dental degree in 2002. After completing her dental training, Dr. Moreira completed an additional 2-year residency at two of the busiest Emergency Hospitals in Rio de Janeiro. In 2008 Dr. Iris obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Dentistry in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
She joined the Dental Department of the SickKids Hospital, in Toronto, Canada, in 2010.
As a Clinical Fellow at SickKids Hospital, Dr. Iris Moreira provided care to medically complex patients while working closely with various dental and medical specialists including oral and plastic surgeons, prosthodontists, and pediatric dentists. She loved this great experience and she has called Canada “home” ever since.
In 2016 she acquired her first dental office in Waterloo and she has been providing dental care and helping patients and their families during the past few years. Prior to the office acquisition, she worked as an associate dentist in Toronto.
Dr. Moreira is passionate for General, Preventive and Implant Dentistry, as much as she is for Orthodontics. She has been attending numerous continuing education seminars, study clubs, and conferences every year to keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry.
Dr. Iris is committed to provide comprehensive dental care and customized treatment in a caring, warm and friendly environment.
She is a proud member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and the Ontario Dental Association.
In her spare time, Dr. Moreira enjoys participating in outdoor activities with her family, including swimming, cycling, skating, and walking/playing with the dogs. She also loves working and giving back to the Waterloo community.
Iris Dentistry is active in the Waterloo community not only for treating people, but also for educating their patients, so they can have long lasting healthy results.
