Easter 2020 should be no different with your celebration of the holiday but how we do it and practice physical distancing will certainly make it unique. Here are some tips that we want to share with you for enjoying the Easter Weekend celebration during COVID-19.
It is Important to Stay Connected with Each Other
For those family and friends outside of your residence, reach out and connect over the weekend via virtual gatherings, using video conferencing software such as skype, facetime, google hangouts or zoom. Having that video connection with multiple people at once helps you stay connected.
You can also play games while video conferencing. There are plenty of online options such as cards, trivia, monopoly, scrabble etc.
Or you can just chat and have a conversation just like you would in person. Keep it upbeat and positive and do not dwell on the world’s current situation. Go down memory lane and generate some belly laughs for everyone.
For our children
The Easter Bunny is an essential service as announced around the globe by world leaders. Plan that Easter egg hunt for the kids. Have grandparents and other family join in virtually. The Easter bunny is the folklore figure of Easter and originated back in 1682.
Cook
While you are not visiting with your normal family and friends there is no reason you cannot still enjoy your favorite Easter dinner. Go ahead and still cook that ham or turkey. Borrow recipes from your family and friends and treat yourself wit your favourite desert. even if you prepare more food that you can eat, you can eat the left overs the rest of the week.
Do some Gardening
Gardening whether outside or inside is good for the soul as you nurture and grow somethings. If you have a backyard, go back to basics and start a vegetable garden. If you are limited on space, then start a herb garden or just potted plants. It is very satisfying when you grow something from scratch and that sense of caring for and growing something can be very therapeutic.
Prime minister Trudeau’s Request
As a father himself, primer minister Justin Trudeau understands the need to talk directly to kids with regards to how COVID-19 has affected their lives and answer their questions.
