Front Desk
At our front desk is where your journey begins – even before you step through our door. Our Administration Team is here to answer your calls, welcome you to Iris Dentistry with warm welcoming smiles, collect your health information (as so much of your overall health is connected to your oral health), assist you with understanding your insurance, submitting claims, and more! They’re your first point of contact for all you care needs – including questions you may have about your treatment and its coordination. If there’s anything you don’t understand or recall from our conversations, give us a ring. We want you to be involved and confident in your care!

Hygiene
Our hygienists are trained healthcare professionals who are incredible sources of information on your oral health and how it projects inward – to affect the health of your whole body – and how it projects outward – to affect your communication with others (verbally and visually) and your confidence. At your first appointment, we typically take about 20-30 minutes longer than a “regular” hygiene appointment because we take unrushed time to get to know you well. Your hygienist will review your health history with you and discuss how medications may affect your oral health. After a thorough examination and oral cancer screening, she will also clean and polish your teeth. When it’s all done, you’ll talk about your dental needs, wants, and desires. Your hygienist will be an integral part of your ongoing care.

Checkup
Once your time with your hygienist is over, she will invite Dr. Iris to join you in the hygiene room and she’ll review her findings with the doctor. Dr. Iris will perform another exam and when complete, together you’ll discuss all the findings and determine the way forward. Dr. Iris will complete a treatment plan with a personalized approach based on your and your hygienist’s input and every aspect of it – whether addressing tooth health, gum health, or cosmetic concerns – will be reviewed with you. Goals will be set and we will work with you with respect, compassion, and gentleness to reach our common goals.

Practice Tour
A rather large percentage of people have fear or anxiety related to dental visits. That’s why we offer the option of a practice tour before your first visit. We have found that when anxious patients have a chance to meet us and experience our calm environment, they feel much better when they do come in for their first appointment. If you’re someone who is nervous about your dental care, please give us a call, come and meet us, and talk with us about your fears. We’re trained to help you get the care you need and want.
