Dental Implants – A Game Changer

Dental implants are metal supports or frameworks (usually titanium) surgically placed in the jawbone below the gum to replace the tooth roots. After that, the dentist will restore the implant with a dental crown on it.

HOW DENTAL IMPLANTS WORK?

Because they are integrated into the bone, implants provide stable support for artificial teeth. Partial and full dentures mounted on implants will not slip or change position in the mouth, a great benefit during eating and speaking. This “prosthesis on implant” and gives the patient more security in all oral functions, which provides more natural situation than conventional bridges or dentures.

Common bridges must be attached to the teeth on either side of the space left by the missing tooth. With implant placement there is no need to prepare or grind a natural healthy tooth to support the new replacement teeth in place as is done with conventional fixed bridges.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

To receive an implant, you must have healthy gums and adequate bones to support it.

You must also commit to keep the implants clean and healthy. Meticulous oral hygiene and regular visits to the dentist are essential for the long-term success of your implants.
